Hi yall so I saw my hen ashley lol n I noticed that her nail was broken and bloody so I put rubbing alcohol on it and put her into the coop with food and water so she wouldn’t be walking around alot. She doesn’t seem in a lot of pain, she doesn’t cry or anything but it looks bad to me and im not sure what to do. I dont just wanna leave her like that or is there nothing I can really do?

Chickens lose toenails all the time. It's a very minor occurrence. Most of the time, they have this nail mishap where you don't notice, the bleeding eventually stops on its own, and the nail either heals or falls off.

The heavy breeds are really prone to breaking nails and losing them, but it can happen to any chicken, and it's simply no big deal.

my baby chick's nail seems weak and wobbly like it might fall off. Her nail has some blood at the connected part. What should i do?

If it's hurting her, it should be removed. You will know if a chicken is experiencing pain if they peck at that spot or hold the foot up against their belly.

First of all, separate her so that other chickens don't peck on her wound. Provide her with clean water with a drop or two of apple cider vinegar.
Treat the wound with chicken wound spray (if you have it). If not, try and soak a paper towel in hydrogen peroxide and apply it to the wound to kill any bacteria that could make it worse.
Good luck!

The nail fell off and there was blood, I put some ointments on it, and now a couple of days later, she doesn't seem to be too worried and is acting normal. Will her nail grow back to her original state? Also, She is digging and I'm worried that it's hurting her toe where the nail is gone. So, is it fine if she digs with that toe?

No, the nail is gone forever, but she will make do just fine without it. The toe will toughen up and it won't hurt her to make a living with it.

Did her toenail ever grow back? This just happened to my hen - the nail is gone and I think part of her quick too. I'm so worried because she loves forranging in the woods
