broody hen with no eggs for 10 days

hello folks

I have buff orp. hen that start broody for almost 10 days she do not move out nest unless to eat and drink.
now i have enough eggs from other.. could i put those eggs under her? would she brooding for 21 days ?? since she alrdy did the 10 days without eggs?

You can slide the eggs under her to sit on. Many hens, especially breeds such as Orps that are known for being broody, will sit way past 21 days. Do have a backup plan in case she decides to stop being broody.

incubation only.. i could stop her from brooding just wondering if she can go all 21 till hatching or hens just stopping at 21 not sure..im noobie

If she has never sat on eggs before there is no telling what she will do. She may get up and be done tomorrow. She may or may not sit for another 21 days. Make sure she is eating because broodies can and will die if they don't get up and eat enough.

i think ill keep her alone with food and water in chicken cage for 2-3days to broke a brooding..

i dont know if she even eating bc she set in nest all days.

Nah, animals do not kill themselves to reproduce. They eat when you don't see it. They eat enough for their needs if it is available. If a broody dies during brooding, something else was wrong.

If she has been broody for 10 days, I would expect her to stay broody for another 21 days and hatch out chicks. However, putting her in a broody breaker is also a doable deal.
