Broody hen

I have a Silver laced Wyandotte, Barred Rock, and a Jersey giant rooster that mates with a buff Orpington hen, anyone had these mixes?

I don't but seeing what traits of the different breeds are inherited is interesting. How many eggs is your broody hen sitting on? Can you tell which eggs belong to which hen? If you want more chicks and its cold out you can just pull eggs out of the other nesting boxes and give them to your broody hen and she should take care of them.

Do not add eggs after the hen has started sitting on eggs. Staggered hatches end with mostly hatched chicks still in the nest when mom takes the hatched chicks to eat and drink.

Is your rooster mixed with 3 breeds? He probably doesn't look like someone else's rooster of those breeds and your chicks will probably have differences.
