Brown Marans - pullet or cockerel, please?

Hi all. Please confirm.for me the sex.of this brown Marans chicken. The black too at the end is for.comparison - I know he's a cockerel and he is from the same clutch of chicks. He crows, but the brown one doesn't. I have seen them play fight but posturing behaviours from the brown one go either way at times. So confused, but I'm about to get rid of the roosters and I want to be sure. Thank.you!

I have raised Marans for a while now, and IMHO the last chicken is a cockerel, the rest are pullets. They are all the same age, compare the two birds, the cockerel's feathers are beginning to become adult feathers and look like a cock bird, where as the other chicken's feathers seem to be remaining like those of an adult hen. Hence I believe these are pullet pictures. Good luck

I'd keep the brown one a little longer. If you get rid of the black one, the brown one will start developing more, if he's a cockerel. Its comb is awfully red for three months, but the feathers are rounded and appear to be pullet feathers.

Thank you - you've given me a little hope. I have a small flock and wanted to have as much variety as possible. The other two in the picture of 3 are Barnavelder and very clearly male and female... The Marans have had me confused for months!
