Buff Cochin Bantam Critique...Please

Hope I posted this in the right section...OK, Given the fact I'm not that great of a 'photo taker', would any of you care to comment on these buffs for me please? I welcome criticism and won't run off to cry

I need to know if they are even worthy of being in my breeding program...so fire away, honesty please.

cull the rooster i dont think he is even all cochin you might get somthing decent from the hens if you get a top quality rooster other wise i would get rid of them all and by some from Tom Roebuck or doug bishop this is a pic of a standard but you can see how bad your rooster is

I wouldnt cull it!

They look like any other PET quality buffs that I've seen in the feed store. I say go for it! Well, try to let some hatch and grow and see if YOU like the quality

I think you have BEAUTIFUL chickens. I really like the roos feathering!
But hopefully someone else will chime in and give a better opinion!

like i said the rooster doesnt seem to be all cochin he stands like a d'uccle

I like the hens, nice and round. Your roo has a long neck, and he stands too upright, unless he was just trying to see something when you took the picture. The back should be more "flat," and the top of the tail should be at least level with the top of the head. If you can catch him standing somewhat like that, could you post another pic? I still like your hens. Are they molting? Their feathers look a little loose.

They're pet quality. If you plan on showing, I'd suggest getting birds from a breeder.

Thanks for all of the input. The roo was watching me, very intently, and does not appear to be that "tall" when he's with his girls. Yes, they are getting ready to blow feathers...I bought them late in season and havent done a thing with them other than try to beef them up a bit. They were thin, but getting better. I appreciate your honesty. Integrity of the breed keeps me aiming for BETTER, always, but we all know we have to start somewhere. Any other comments, opinions or help/improvements are most appreciate and wanted. Thanks again guys

If you go to http://cochinsrule.com/ you can get contact info from several breeders. Of those listed, I have purchased birds from Tom Roebuck and Jamie Matts. Although I'm partial to Jamie's birds, both have incredible cochins.
