Buff orpington chick colors

I'm blown away.
All 50 of my Buffs hens are yellow Buffs.
When the chicks hatched, 50/50 yellows and silverish
I gave a family member 6 buffs about 6 weeks ago.
I was blown away from what I saw. One white buff, Blue Buffs, 1 black buff, a lavender and rest where yellows
I asked them where did you get them. They said those are the one's I gave them.
So I go to T.s.c. to pick up feed.
I see they had yellow buffs.
I was reading the description and it said, yellow, Blue, lavender black and white.

so it made sense to me.
How da he'll did I hatch silver and blue Buffs.
Now, my roos are from another farm I bought as chicks.
I guess my question has been answered.
Buff orpington do hatch different color chicks?

Buff is a color, orpington is the breed, you have blue, black ect orpingtons.
they could have had recessive blue, black etc genes and when mixed with your roosters, those colors popped out.
What breeds are your roosters?

All the mama's are yellow Buffs orpington, so are the two yellow buff orpington rooster

Buff means yellow, saying yellow buff is saying yellow yellow. Buff is a color, orpington is the breed. No one refers to buff Orpingtons or any other buff breeds as 'buffs'. It's not going to hurt anything to say yellow buff but it's very confusing.

Okay, so I understand this is an old thread, but hoping to get an answer here. I had a Buff Orpington roo x Buff Orpington hen and hatched out 1 egg...a chocolate looking chick. Is this possible? Do Buff Orpingtons not breed true? I have spent the past few hours reading and can't find an answer...please help & TIA!
