I have a buff Orpington hen I got from someone and she is allegedly about 1.5 yrs old now. I got her on Halloween ‘24. She hasn’t laid an egg yet, all the other hens are laying. She appears healthy. We are getting warmer days now in Montana. Is she older than I was told or do BO take longer to come back into lay? They have about 13.5 hours of light. About a month ago she was hanging out in the boxes, but haven’t seen her do that lately. Any insight would be great, I am new to chickens.

I should say I assume she’s a BO but might be a mix

That looks like a BO. Perhaps that's why they got rid of her. Does she act normal, eat and drink as she should, do normal chicken things, active and alert? No physical signs of reproductive issues like a swollen belly under her vent? What does her vent look like? Have you tried putting her on Calcium Citrate + D3 vitamins for a few days? It's a large pill but they can swallow it no problem. Just open their mouth and put it in. She may spit it out initially just keep trying until you get it in there and she will swallow it.
Pretty chickens. Montana is gorgeous country.

She acts very normal. I haven't checked for a swollen belly or her vent. I can do that. I haven't tried the calcium citrate + D3 but I can. I just picked her out of the flock, I may have just picked an older layer. Thank you for this info and the kind words
