Bug eye

Hi
Im not sure if anyone has some advice 2 day old chick with one enlarged eye ,can I give it anything ?will it come right or what is the best course of action ?

I would use a little Terramycin or plain Neosporin ointment if the chicks eyelid doesn’t not cover the eye, to keep the eye from drying out. An enlarged or bulging eyeball can be a common birth defect in baby chicks. There are numerous threads here on BYC to look at. Many times the eye will deflate and the eye may be blind. If it affects only one eye, the chick may be able to do okay and live a fairly normal life. Sometimes the chick doesn’t make it. Sometimes it occurs in one or both eyes.
