Button quail thread!!

Wow that's interesting usually button quail don't go broody.

Buttons go broody far more often than coturnix. If you give them plenty of hiding places, it may happen.

My hands look huge.

Finished my latest quail cage.

It’s 2’ x 2’ x 18". Made of walnut on the outside, oak on the inside, with a plywood back and a Guinea pig liner filled with dirt and covered in mulch. The sides have hardware cloth, the top has plastic netting which is softer for when they flush.

I added rocks, leaves, sticks, and a sand bath. There is a gravity flow waterer and, for now, a bowl for food.

The top is hinged. I want to add a side door at some point as well. And, of course, some hidey places.
