Button quail thread!!

Just witnessed something that gave me quite a chuckle. There are still a couple of empty toilet paper tubes in the brooder from when the chicks were a lot smaller.

Just now I was feeding them, and one of them stuck its head in the tube and stayed there motionless until I was finished. So freaking adorable!

Do you think I should turn on the heater in my quail coop/hutch?

I have 13 button quail atm and It's my first winter with them. I'm Located in North Carolina and it generally gets 25 degrees at the lowest staying around 30-40 for most of winter.

I have a small heat panel on the side of the wall in their house and I wanted to know if it would be bad to turn on.

I know it isn't necessary, but will it make them more comfortable? or would it be dangerous somehow to turn on?

Button quail are NOT cold hardy. If it gets that cold, they will need the heat. They really shouldn't get below 40 degrees.
