Maybe he is stressing her out. if you have a second female you could add that may helpYes, but for the last few days, she's been running away from him.
She might hatch them, then abandon them. I'd have a brooder and heat plate ready for them if they hatch out.I don't think I've posted here... I look after a family member's lovebird aviary and there was 5 buttons living in there. I decided to hatch to even the numbers and now there's 8 all together
I keep Valley quail myself but these buttons are CUTE. At least one of the hens is actually trying to brood I discovered, I did not think my set up was suitable to encourage that In fact they haven't even made a nest or anything, just the corner of the aviary with a hand full of lovebird feathers and no cover I don't think she'll be successful but she seems convinced!
Hmm, I don't right now. They are snuggled up to one another for the night, but he's still chirping.Maybe he is stressing her out. if you have a second female you could add that may help
I doubt she'll successfully incubate tho I'd been away so i sorted the egg collection she had today and I found quite a few cracked ones. She doesn't have a proper nest to keep them safe...She might hatch them, then abandon them. I'd have a brooder and heat plate ready for them if they hatch out.
My buttons almost always lay in the sand. I've never found one cracked.I doubt she'll successfully incubate tho I'd been away so i sorted the egg collection she had today and I found quite a few cracked ones. She doesn't have a proper nest to keep them safe...
I haven't properly packed away my brooder from the last lost tho anyway
Happy boys are quiet boys. What is his home like?My adult roo is chirping non-stop. Any ideas?
I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like he knew something was wrong.Sadly, he died during the night.
