My dad has always been a "Milwaukee guy" his 12 year old drill started smoking last year so he had to get a new one. he legitimately told me they don't make em' like they used to. IT WAS 12 YEARS OLD

Maybe he has tried to block out the death of his beloved Milwaukee drill.
Whether he said it or not it's right. They don't make them like they used to. Not even like they did 12 years ago.
That means now he'll have to settle for a lesser new one.
Death of nice power tools can be hard on a guy.
