BYC Café

I candle tonight. I'll let you know. Mom is doing a great job so far.
10 developing nicely. One dud. Not bad. Savannah went on the attack when I started removing her eggs. I had to collar her head and neck with one hand while I slipped the eggs back under her then hold my hand with phone above her head to make her peck at that instead of reaching under her and peck at the eggs.

Fabio is dying. I don't think he'll make it much longer.

I have not asked for help to euthanize him as he continues to eat, accept raisins, go after seed when I scatter it and try to stay with the girls. But he's extremely weak and pale. He must have some type of GI infection as he is now shedding a lot of intestinal lining. I'm giving him poultry cell and have him on amoxicillin but he didn't even bother to try to get up the ramp tonight. He's on the middle of the coop floor. Jody hopped down when I had the lights on. She's still with him on the floor.
He's breaking my heart.

Awww, so very sorry! :hugs

I recently lost my 9yr old Buff Orpington, Willow, Queen of my multi-species household. A few days prior, her BFF, Bernadette, a 7-8yr old White Sussex had gone to heaven. Willow stayed by her side and I believe stayed alive to be with her friend, then decided it was her time as well. I miss my divas!

Yeah, that is what our old Roo did. It seems like the hens pay their respects and then go on.
We have sunshine this morning so I guess the storm is done. There is about a foot and some was melting as it was falling. It was in the teens last night so I am happy to have it warming up again.
I am going to make some rye bread today for Rubens tomorrow.
We are going no stress and easy for tomorrow's dinner with remodeling and babies in the mix! LOL!
Enjoy the weekend, Cafe!
