Just train her to pee and poop on command, makes life much easier for me with both boys.
I sit out there and constantly tell her "go potty" and buzz her collar when she starts farting around. It STILL takes forever. It's sometimes hard to tell if she is looking for a spot or just sniffing around looking for trouble.

Lark, one of my 4 y/o Australorps was sitting in the nestbox. She's my lounger, often taking a couple hours to lay. Later there was an egg that might have been hers.

This year is very strange. The four year olds molted early, especially Little, who is back to laying. Now Lark might be back to work...?

Eggs this winter would be great.

Same here.

The oak trees are going nuts (haha) dropping acorns this year. It sounds like a rock when they drop on our metal roof.
I grew up in a house with oak trees all around, shingles rather than metal but still every year it was crazy, all the noise and the mess they left on all the hardscaping.

I had it easy with pottying my dogs, but then I went to the trouble of creating a large fenced area right off the front door so I could let them out and just wait until they were done and woofed to come back inside.

The high 80 to 90 temps haven't felt too bad with being able to cool the house at night...and with the shorter days and very low humidity.

Goodmorning! Coffee time!

My neighbor who had a heart attack last December passed out last night in her kitchen. She's back in the hospital, for an undetermined stay. I asked what I could do to help, and she texted me, "Got a new heart or a million dollars?"

Her attitude is amazing. She's come to terms with her (probably) shortened time left, and is taking each day, one at a time, and enjoying whatever time she has left.
