BYC Café

Good morning, all, Coffee is freshly brewed and hot. Have a cup.
We are actually freezing temps here, frost. The girls look cold, all huddled together in a corner with their necks tucked and feathers all puffed out. Our first winter with birds so I assume that's the posture when they're cold.

Probably 8-12 inches of snow over the past few days.
The roads are a mess, glad I don't have to drive anywhere,
couldn't get out of the driveway anyhow.
Like it couldn't get worse, but temps will warm above freezing today and tomorrow with 3-5 inches more on the way.
I remember several years ago when we had a terrible snow storm in mid-December and hubby and I spent the night at work, camped out in the conference room. The manager sent hubby home in the early afternoon to get Raven and bring her back to stay with us. We were so busy that he said he couldn't take the chance we wouldn't make it in.

Other people went home, or stayed with coworkers who lived in town.

Our scant inch on the ground has melted nearly all away. While Grand Rapids, 35 miles to the west, got a record breaking 9.25" of snow on November 29th.

Lake effect snow is fickle, and most of it doesn't venture this far inland.

I am NOT complaining!
So it must vary a lot by location how much snow you get? I was under the impression you guys all got a lot lol

Shoveled ~6" off the coop path this morning,
that fell since I shoveled ~4" about 4pm yesterday.
Shoveled a good 10" out of the run.
Luckily none of that stuck to the run mesh roof, tho now it's starting to. The ground is still warm so snow is rather heavy, tho not the worst I've chucked.
...and...it's...still...coming down!
