🤔 But "cage free" does still not mean "free ranging"?
Some of our "cage free" here mean that they are not out door, just in a big barn and some overcrowded.

Then the free range is having access to out door, that is if chickens decided they want to go out. All these chickens still in a big barn, not out in pasture sunshine.

It is all depending on the producers.

cheesy stuff in his mouth, difficulty swallowing, eyes closed, crow with broken sound..
Poor guy! Sounds like canker (trichomoniasis) to me which needs to be treated urgently with ronidazole. It will not get better on its own, he will starve and suffocate as the cheesy stuff will keep growing without proper treatment.

Did you try to get some of the stuff out?

The "cheap" eggs are nearly $4/dozen at Meijer. There is a sign on the cooler door saying that starting on January 1, all their eggs will be "cage free." That probably means more expensive.
Ya know, the cashier mentioned something about "Michigan", must be some kind of state wide mandate. BunchaBullsh!t!!

ETA: Just looked up the law, 1sqft per bird. SMH.

I found it on this website, strange that it quoted Australia Dollars, but at the same time stated NOT for Australian Customers
