I do not as a few more eggs would not make up for the electricity bills.

My decision to light is not based on costs
It brightens my days and my belly to gather fresh eggs in my backyard.
The power cost is negligible anyway....a few pennies a month.

Snow event to last all night now. I am a self avowed hermit but my limit of being involuntarily 'trapped' is reaching it's limits. Silently screaming in my head.

I totally understand and might do the same if energy costs were not as high as they are here in Germany.

If I put deer suet there, Bella will end up with explosive diarrhea.

I totally forgot to facture that in.

Still too cold to get all the frozen poop unstuck from boards.
Some pop right off, the juicy ones do not.

Before we got "the big chill," I got as much of the stuck poop off the boards as I could, and the put a heavy layer of PDZ down. The "dryish" poops scoop up, no problem. If someone drops a juicy one that soaks down to the board, it usually sticks. And there it will stay for a few days; we're forecast a series of days near/around 30F.
