BYC Café

Hello Café, and thanks for the much needed coffee!
Hatching is completed and all three mother hens are happily brooding and feeding their respective chicks:

11 Marans pure but colour mix

6 Ameraucana
4 Green/Olive ( my flock)

7 BCM different breeder

Makes a total of 28 chicks which is more than enough for this year although several of my other hens still won't see reason and are determined to add some more!

Glad your DH will be home soon! @pennyJo1960

That's a lot!
Savannah's eggs will hatch in one week. Three weeks after that, I have an order of 12 SR black Ameraucana coming. True SR. From the breeder. I hope that Astrid starts showing signs of going broody soon. She would adopt them in a heartbeat if she was in the zone.

How is your DH doing these days, LF?

Good morning! Another pot of coffee, if you need a warm up.

I took everything out of the "other" closet in the mudroom. :yesss:

I hauled about 2 1/2 bags of garbage out to the corner for pickup this morning. And I was very pleasantly surprised at how much ammo I have! I have a lot of competition ammo left from my Bullseye Pistol shooting days. I have to sort through it all and find some boxes to put it in.

Whenever I get a big chunk of clutter taken care of I feel great at the accomplishment. Did you do this yesterday?

Yes. And I know what you mean!

That was my project for the day. I wanted to wait until hubby and Freya were gone, as I knew there was a lot of mouse poop in there. I did not need Freya's nose in the way. I also waited until "garbage out" day, because I knew I didn't want this stuff staying in the house.

I used two chicken feed bags for the garbage. I had some "pokey" things that would have laughed at the plastic garbage bag, made a hole through it, and fallen out, jeering at me. "Ha ha, I can make ANOTHER mess for you to clean up!"

It took a lot longer than I thought it would, but I wasn't going for speed. There was a lot more junk stuffed in there than I thought. The wall at the back has not seen the light of day in decades!

Thanks for the hot coffee and I do need a warm up!
There is a chilly rain falling. Snow and rain starting on Sun night! We did not have a fire last night after I got back from taking my friend to PT and other chores, so I went to bed earlier than usual and slept soundly in my nice warm bed.
Up early and ready to go shopping with my DAF friend. She seems to be having a hard time and I am thinking, a little lonely. Her DH is a bit of a duh, but nice and a great handyman. I don't know and not my picket line!
We are going to call this baby girl, "Little Lucy" after her great gramma. I love family names!
Enjoy the day, Cafe! Stay warm and dry!
