Yes!! They definitely can fly---hard to believe, but they can go a good 30 ft up into a tree. They don't like to fly a long distance, but once they are adults, they will fly to get away from predators or rush across a road! I have found that they are hard to control that way, so start training them to "come" to you when they are baby keets.

Can guineas fly?

For a short distance yes ...

But if you mean for several miles at a time No

Thanks everyone for responding so quickly, see I raise muscovies and I'm into raising things that are very beautiful but to some people are ugly, I think guineas aren some of te most beautiful wild fowl nest to my muscovies and I really want to get a hen because a boy might get kinda lonely without a female

So I'm drawn between a old English game bantam and a guinea so if you can give me some more insight on the species it will be very helpful

Guineas are chickens with an attitude! They can take care of themselves. I wished that my peafowl minded as well as my guineas did!

Guinea are funny as they keep everyone else in the yard in like and do all the controlling
because the guinea act like one so I call them the mall cops and this is their real power
otherwise the cats would always win ....

My large male cat decided the would have a large male guinea for lunch. The guinea changed the cat's mind real quick. He eat the stuffing out of him! My cats do not bother the guineas now!
