I’ve been feeding crows for years and they trusted me enough to raise their young right outside my duck yard. This one happened to hop over the fence, but I scooped him up in a trashcan lid and put him back on the other side.

When I taught high school, there was a glass exit door near my room. Just about every day, for quite some time, a crow would caw and peck at the door. Some kids ate lunch out there on pretty days. I guess he might have liked the droppings and was asking for more. We named him Edgar (as in Edgar Allen Poe, The Raven).

Are they black vultures? We have a flock that roosts in the trees right next to my property. They are so cool to watch coming in to roost in the afternoon.

I am not 100% sure, but believe that they are black vultures.
