Cackle mini surprise box

Following for more information. Hopefully someone will respond soon. I haven't ordered their surprise box, but I did order their small town/city pullet box and although I had one accidental cockerel, they more than compensated with the extras provided. I had a wonderful experience with Cackle Hatchery last June. For the sake of the chicks, I would like to find a Hatchery that is closer to or in NC, but if I do use a Hatchery other than Cackle, it's only because I didn't put much thought into the distance from them to me when I ordered chicks for the first time. They did a fantastic job of getting the chicks to me safe and happy though and I have absolutely no complaints. I am super curious about the surprise box they offer though.

I bought the 50 heavy pullet special and received 54 healthy chicks the day after shipping, they are now 4 weeks old and all survived , i received RI reds, Barred Rocks and Buffs, will only order from Cacle from now on.

I should add that in the small town/city pullet box (includes 3 pullets), I chose 3 pullets from the breeds offered. I chose a Buff Orpington, SLWyandotte, and Barred Rock. I received 2 of each, so a total of 6 chicks in an order of 3. I still have the 5 pullets and they're 8 months old now. The Buff Orpington Cockerel lives right down the road from me at the in-laws, where he enjoys having lots of ladies. My shipment arrived in just under 48 hours. It was in mid June, so the weather was Hot, but probably comfortable for the chicks.

I had a good experience with the mini surprise box.

Your mileage will vary, but here's a brief rundown on what I received..

2 turkey
2 duck
Assorted other chicks that I have yet to ID..
I'm thinking one might be a bob white quail.
25 in all -- all live and healthy.

The tracking info was a little scary, but the chicks arrived timely.

I might order the full size surprise next year.
