Rhodebars are good, they were in the garage still. No, it was the jubilee orps from GFFs. I haven't contacted them. I am going to. I just assume they got it in shipping but I should inquire just in case other people have had the same issue.

I drove to Novato yesterday and got some crosses from her and 1 welsummer hen. Just Struttin.... is her name. nice enviroment and nice person. I would give up the 1 welsummer chick I took. not really looking to do anything with welsummers except maybe mix with my olive egger program.

I seem to have become the chicken referral person.

Anyway, I was contacted from a lady in the Sacramento area that is looking for show/breeder quality welsummer. She wants to be able to drive to pick them up. I think she'd be interested in chicks through adults. If you have something available, please send me a PM and I'll put you in contact. I think she'd prefer to not drive more than an hour or so, she told me she talked to someone in Novato and she preferred to not drive that far.

I don't think she is looking to show, but she does not want hatchery birds.

Thanks,
Deb

Ok Guys, this is quite a coincidence. It looks like Cooper12 went to get a Wellsummer for the person that contacted Deb.

Wow!

Good luck, you are getting quite the collection, especially with the added problem of having to hide your roos.

I live further out in the country, but I'm banking on the current set of neighbors based on -

Down the street - good friends, our pet sitters and we supply their eggs
Across the street - barking dogs
Across the street - they have their own chickens
Next door - they have chickens and GUINEAS
Next door the other side - they have a teenager with a dirt bike

Hello everyone :)

I live in Fairfield (green valley) and I'm loving this thread, so much good info! I am really new to chickens and have a lot to learn. Right now I have 3 chicks in brooder about a week old. I have an EE, Brahma and White Leghorn. The EE is my fav so far as she is the most mellow and seems to enjoy being held and talked to.

I am also raising 4 humans, lol aged 9,9,7 and 5 years of age. The rest of the clan consists of 2 dogs,3 cats, tortoise, bearded dragon, and of course random fish or two. Of course poor, dear hubby shaking his head at the critters and work involved.

Looking forward to reading more and getting to know you all here.
