calling any one from missouri

Idk of any native white ducks. We need a pic.
If it's a freak mallard that would be cool.

Yeah, as soon as I heard white duck, I immediately figured it must be a Pekin. Around here it is common to see a white Pekin on park ponds hanging with wild ducks. People regularly release ducks they no longer want to care for.
In Missouri, it could get too cold for a Pekin without housing from time to time.

Here it is! All alone :( I gave him some veggies this morning

she looks possibly blue swedish ( gray color?) or maybe white ( perhaps pekin mixed with something or a whitelayer duck- + wild duck mix? but pic makes her look grayish? she looks unique. also looks like she might be molting, that is possibly why she couldn’t fly away with the others, but are you sure she has flown away with the others in the past? Have you seen her fly more than 5 feet high and 40 feet far? (that’s about all my domestic ducks can fly) my son lives in missouri , south of KC. are you anywhere near there? maybe he and his friends can help? you would need help to catch her. you set up a little 3 sided enclosure near the water with the open side towards the water and you go a couple times a day with some food for her , and each time you place the food closer to the enclosure, until it’s in the enclosure and she goes in then you and your helper can catch her . I am afraid she will be predated if she is not caught and taking care of. You can call wildlife rehab and shelter type people in your area as well to ask for help.

I haven’t seen her leave with the flock in previous winters but this is the only time she has been left completely alone after they leave. I haven’t seen her fly at all she just waddles
I am in springfield 3 hours under KC I would happy to catch her if he wants to give her a cozy home. I have called the wildlife local line and they don’t seem to care or think it’s an issue but it’s really sad to see her alone in the freezing pond and I’m worried she will be too cold this winter and pass.

I think she is a he and some sort of domestic duck so ya probably dumped there at some point.
First things first is you should name him Moony. I live south of KC also which tends to be a tad colder then Springfield. My ducks have never had a problem with the cold and never really even seek shelter from it.
Agreed getting taken by a predator would probably be the bigger issue.
Unfortunately I'm too far away to be of any help.

Would you want moony if I brought them to you?
