i had 2 male ducks. A Cayuga and a Call Duck. Sadly something got my Cayuga. I need to get some females now. First how many is safe and will my male Call duck breed with a different species (I know he will try) but will it make fertilized eggs (don’t really want it) or should I just stick with Call ducks.

If he can overcome the size difference the eggs will be fertile. All domestic ducks, including call ducks, are decended from Mallards and can interbreed and produce fertile offspring (not including Muscovy). If you don’t want more ducks just collect the eggs and eat them. Fertile eggs taste the same as infertile. Development of the embryo doesn’t begin until the eggs are incubated so you are eating an egg with one cell on the yolk with DNA from both mom and dad.

Could a Call duck drake breed a small Cayuga duck? I already have the Cayuga ducks and just saw Call Ducks for sale near me. My husband wants small ducks but I didn't want a bunch of noisy ducks. So I figured this might be a good mix! :D

I don't think there are Cayugas smaller than a call duck. I just got 3 females (hopefully they are females) and they are only 10-12 weeks old and already towering over my male call duck!

Hi, I have 3 Cayuga's but I think the smallest one is a runt. She would be bigger then him but was wondering if he could breed her?
