I have 4 silkies I have been waiting to lay and today when I went out to get eggs I found a tiny blue egg. All my other chicjens are laying other then my silkies so it has to be from one of them. I can't find anywhere that silkies lay blue eggs. Is this possible?? Its hard to tell from picture but it's a very pretty blue.

I was reading about a silky like that a couple days ago. It is a mix breed, I think it is a mix between silky and Ameraucana. You are lucky you got one that looks like a silky, because most of them turn out with the smooth chicken feathers and not the silky feathers, not all of them lay blue eggs either! They are a crossbreed and they are kind of expensive. Sounds like you have something that hardly anybody else has! I wish I had one of those!

Are they from the two silkies that someone was giving away? Do you know if they were purchased from a hatchery?

Whispering Oak's Silkie's have been working with the blue egg laying silkies for about 8 years. They are located in Lakeside, CA. I got some hatching egg's from her shipped to me. Only one chick hatched out but it's very healthy.

I think it's the gray one I'm holding. I'm pretty sure the black one im holding is a roo. I am sot sure though. I will have to reach out to the people who I got them from to see. Thank you for info. I am glad to know whichever she is, she is special!!
