I know this pictures says different but the bill is like a grayish color and the stripes in the head are black. I'm not sure why it came across the way it did. he just makes a low sounds no quacking. so I would probably say heritagegoose is probably right I appreciate the input greatly

If it is raspy it's a drake. If it quacks it's a girl. Here is a good link with the different sounds of girls and boys http://www.majesticwaterfowl.org/artquacks.htm Since you said it is raspy I would say boy. I don't know too much about early coloring of Rouens and Mallards.
