Can ducks and geese live together happily?!

My sister is getting me a goose eggs for my birthday next year. And if it hatches, it will be raised with ducklings, is that ok? Will it be happy? Would I need to get it a goose friend? Thanks in advance!

From the geese I've met, they seem to adjust to being part of a mixed flock well especially if they were raised in one.

Gotta add - there's always going to be an exception. Right?!?

But I think if your goose is raised with ducks, it is fairly likely that it should be fine with ducks.

I've always had my ducks and geese together and they've been fine. Currently my geese, ducks, and chickens are all together. No problems

My ducks and geese have always been fine, never had a problem. They weren't raised together either.

Edited to add that yes, you should have a goose friend for it. One gets lonely.

Well I put my ducks in the pond Saturday and the Geese didn't like it at first, William tried forcing the ducks away for one short minute then gave up and they are happy together in the pond. I do wish the geese would run them out just once so I could catch them though.

For the most part ducks and geese get along fine sometimes geese can be agressive towards your ducks but i cant see you having to much of an issue since your gonna raise them togather from goslings.

Mine get along fine. We had a problem with them trying to breed with the chickens though so we limit their exposure to the chickens now but the duck and the geese are perfectly happy together. The duck even tries to herd the geese into the house at night. He's very routine oriented.
