Hi all,
Just trying to be proactive and get some information about keeping my Pekins healthy. I have 4 ducklings who are about 2.5 weeks old and are currently living inside in a brooder. They will not be outside for another few weeks so this is all just to know in advance. I know that Pekins are a heavyweight breed and if overfed will become obese and really suffer.
I’m trying to gauge how much supplemental food they will need if they are free foraging in a large area 8+ hours a day. I’ve seen some resources say 1/3 lb per duck every day, but I’m not sure if that is in addition to foraging. Thank you in advance, I am trying really hard to keep my Pekins happy and healthy!!
