My dad and I are looking at fence and I was just wondering if foxes can go through 4x4 inch holes? Our chickens are free range but we have a fox around and he ate some of our chickens for the past two years. So if they can go through a hole that size what is a decent hole size that foxes can't go through?

Almost everything that eats chickens can get thru 4 inches. I won't use anything bigger than 1 inch and coons can actually get them thru that. Most people recommend 1/2 inch hardware cloth or chicken wire. It's the only sure thing to keep predators at bay.

YES plus they can dig under, jump over, they are very persistent and clever.

I agree 1/2" hardware cloth securely affixed to frame - not with little plastic ties
