So I am thinking about hatching macaw eggs. Should I get a new "exotic" incubator, or could I use a normal chicken incubator? I have heard mixed things about this. The website always recommend an exotic bird incubator, but I have also heard people hatching them in normal incubators with no problem. Any help would be good. Thanks!

I would strongly advise that you dont hatch any at all. Parrots are very different from poultry when hatched, they are completely helpless. Baby macaws need to be hand fed every 2 hours- even at night. You should never, ever force wean them, and some might not start to wean until they are a year old or more. Hand feeding is difficult and when done wrong can really hurt the baby. And also, every online place claiming to sell parrot eggs is a scam. Depending on the species, macaws only lay 1-4 (ish) eggs per clutch, so its very unlikely that a breeder would sell you eggs. Parrot eggs are also way more delicate than poultry, and probably wouldnt survive shipping even if it wasnt a scam (which it would be)
