Can my broody hen hatch and raise chicks?

Success! One chick hatched overnight! It's so tiny and cute The other egg hasn't done anything and didn't chirp when I picked it up to check, so I guess I'll wait a few more hours and see what happens.

Do you know what day they were at? We just did a hatch and had 4 hatch on day 20, and then the rest throughout the day Sunday.

Generally when mama moves from nest/eggs is a good indicator of duds as well

Yesterday was day 21, and chick hatched some time after 10pm when I last checked. I have a feeling the second egg didn't make it, but I can wait a little longer to make sure.

Mama hen hasn't moved or done anything with the egg.
