Can someone identify this scat pile?

Ok, don't think I'm silly, but I have seen deer poop that looked like that.

Yes, I do know that it's "normally" pellets, but this type is quite common.

It could be lots of things.
If you dig through it you may see some evidence of what it was eating.

If I HAD to guess I'd say either coon or deer.
If it's coon, there should be some seeds mixed in

It looks like skunk poop to me -- is it about 4" long? Skunks have a low probability of eating your chickens. They will go after little ones and they will eat eggs.

If it is raccoon poop then you have a whole 'nother problem in that raccoons will kill everything just because they can. Raccoons are clever and determined. You really have to make sure that your coop is secure. That nothing can get in, that your birds can't stick their necks out.

I would go with the theory that your birds are being stalked by a raccoon and react accordingly -- double secure everything.

Lol, everyone is saying something different. My guess is Fox or coyote poop. But really I have no clue.

...not sure what it came from, but if it is racoon poop~be careful racoon poop can make you very sick.

That is scat from a fox most likely. I saw that same pile after a red fox got my chickens
