I am trying to hatch eggs using mini incubator. I am in day 4 with 7 eggs and close to start day 5 in one hour. I tried candelling the eggs and see only one egg has nerves/blood vessels on It. Can some one help on confirming if the other eggs are not fertile so that I can remove from incubator. I am trying to understand and take suggestions from you if remaining eggs are still fertile.

Thanks in advance.

It is too early to tell for sure. 12 Days is about the earliest you can be absolutely positive about things, but numbers 3, 4, and 6 look like they could be rotten, the rest look like they could be developing now. But wait a little longer to see for sure

Thanks for the reply. Any simple clues on how can we imagine eggs are rotten or not fertile? like for example 3,4,6 in my case. I will wait till day 12 to confirm 3,4,6 but still Any imagination pointer could help.

Sorry, I was counting and didn't see that you had them numbered already, I was trying to say 4,5,7 sorry about that! The bubbles in the shell indicate that the egg is rotten, that is one way to tell, and light color, like no dark blob inside of the shell is another indication.

Thanks for looking in to this. I am completely new to incubator and eggs hatching. This is my first one. I am not sure about your question. It is a brown egg. So do you think they are shell bubbles or inside bubbles? Will that make any difference if they are due to shell color? Please let me know.

Not "shell bubbles" don't know for sure how to explain it. I have eggs that look like this when I candle them sometimes too. Just a difference in how porous or not the shell is in different areas. Sorry hard to explain, but like Poultrybreeder said, it's too early to tell for sure. Give them another week or so and check again.

In your case, did your eggs which are in similar state got in to positive stage after few days? Any hatching experience with such eggs? Also from the above images 1 to 7 do you think which one have some chances and which may not have. Just any guess will excite me as I am new to this.

Sorry. I really don't remember. I actually don't use an incubator. I just wait until one of my hens go broody and let her do all the work. And unless one is really experienced at candling, I'm not, 4 days in is pretty early. I even had an egg that was 7 days along one time that I destroyed because I didn't think it was fertile, but it was and then I kicked myself for destroying it. I know it's hard to be patient because I'm one of the worst, but just hang in there and give them another week or so.
