Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

thank you! good to be back.
she’s actually the less prolific layer out of our two 8 year old buff orps! her sister, Big Blondie, lays far more frequently than her. i thought (and hoped) she’d slow down over the years, but she’s a tank!
Those heritage breeds often do lay later into their lives. They are the workers for a backyard flock. I miss my buff Orpington. I have had quite a few great hens. Always friendly and curious.

aww im glad you’ve had so many great feathered companions! chickens really are the best, aren’t they? i love watching my girls dig around, pecking this and that, sunbathing, just generally doing chicken things :)

They are the best therapy. They remind me every day to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life. Scratching around, sunning themselves, and always make sure to chase that bug. You just never know when you will be successful.

We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to. :)

(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)
Still here

Well, considering I’m just now seeing this, and it’s now December….. yep. We’ve been busy! Just living that crazy chicken lady life, up to 40-50ish birds… chicken math + nature= advanced chicken math. Many new, cute, barnyard cross babies this year. We even had a mama hatch out 6 babes only a month ago!
