Not sure if I am guilty for this chick’s death but I still feel terrible. When I was leaving this morning I saw one of the last eggs unzipping. Didn’t seem to be stuck or anything so I didn’t intervene. I have assisted a lot of chicks but only do so when necessary.

Unfortunately I only came back home 12 hours later and saw 3 other chicks out and fluffy while the one that I saw unzipping today died halfway outside of the egg. The egg was already kicked open but the chick was still in the egg position. Not sure what caused this chick to pass when it seems like it was already out. Pictures show the chick already pulled out by me (once I found out it has passed) but the chicks shoulders and neck were already out before I took it out and it was fully unzipped (no membrane)

Nothing out of the ordinary other than it’s stomach being incredibly squishy and the yolk being unabsorbed. Do tell if something else look odd.

I dont see anything out of the ordinary other than the stomach. Sometimes they just don't make it :( that's happened to me a few times as well. Sorry for the chick loss!
