We had an easter egger x chick hatch yesterday (under a broody hen) with a bump on its head. Picture below. Also working on a video.

Last night it looked like a bump on the skin, not an open wound. I've seen chicks pecked on the head and it didn't look like that either. I put a natural cream on it for antibacterial purposes.

This morning it looks scabbed over. The chick is less active than the others but not extremely so.

Anyone know what's wrong? Or what I should do?

Please describe the lesion. Is it soft like a blister? Hard like a pebble? Medium soft like a cyst?

Describe the chick's behavior? Compared to the others, is it eating, drinking, sleeping more than them? What does the poop of this chick look like?

I would put some blukote on it with a Qtip to keep anyone from pecking it. And as the previous responded, what is the bump consistency?
