Chick rapidly non-stop cheeping, pls help!

Hi all, sadly the chick didn't make it. She was very lethargic and sick this morning, so I held her in my hands, and she died in my arms shortly after 😥. The other chicks are fine, healthy and walking around, except this morning one their beak tips fell off?? I'm not sure how it happened but it's not bleeding, I'm really worried about it. By the way, is a reptile heating pad ok, because that's the type I've ordered(I couldn't find chicken ones on Lazada or Shopee which are online shopping apps). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that... there might've been something wrong with it internally, which was why it was so noisy and had its eyes closed.

Any pictures of the beak damage?

Oh I see… but the other chick’s beaks are fine, so how does the debeaking work? Is it meant to only fall off after a few days? It’s quite a common practice here. oh dear I hope it grows back..

From what I understand the end of the beak is chopped off. It shouldn't have fallen off after though, unless there's something different about how its done over there?

It's not meant to grow back. If it is common there then in the future I would make sure to ask for chicks that were not debeaked. It's not too common in the US for backyard chickens and none of my birds have it.

I think it’s an injury and not debeaking, because the other chick’s beak is fine. If it’s an injury, will it grow back? Thanks for the information!

It depends on how far back on the beak the damage happened. If it was injury, take a good look around the brooder and make sure there's nothing sharp that they can catch their beaks on, like edges of wire or metal.
