Chick rejected by mother. Help please!

The chick took its first steps forward!!! And its first poop! I took it out to take a picture or two and took a short video where I tried to get it to move around so yawl could see what I was talking about. Put it back the wife decided to try and get it to peck at some feed and caught the steps on video! video I took Video my wife took!

Just an update. Eve, that’s what we named it (subject to change once sex is determined) is still doing fine. Lacey, the mom, hatched 5 more chicks , 2 more cream colored ones and 3 identical black ones with identical brown marking on their faces. Big ole rat got into with Lacey, which I walked in on. Rat got shot. Babies were unharmed. But all the chicks are residing indoors in the makeshift brooder we hatched our first store bought brood in. All are healthy and doing well from what I can tell. Beyond that, killed a coral snake in the yard about 200 ft from where Lacey was nesting. So yeah, feeling like we made the right choice bringing them in.
