We got "Assorted Pullet" from Ideal Poultry this past December, and we think we got a White Leghorn, Rhode Island Red, Easter Egger, Barred Rock, an Australorp rooster and another chick that we aren't quite sure of. She's had a black comb since she was a fluffball, and she doesn't look exactly like the australorp roo... and we think Ideal was probably out of stock of sumatras by December!! Is it an australorp thing, or is she some other breed...?

Can you post a picture? I know Silkies have black/combs and skin, but I wouldn't think Ideal would include one in an assortment of standard sized birds. The Aman Cemani is a black combed/skinned chicken, but I looked on Ideals website and couldn't find that they offered them. I *think* Sumatras have black combs too, but I'm not positive about that. Good luck.

what color are her legs? Sometimes they will have extra pigment on thier combs, my Jersey Giants and Black sexlink pullets hatch with black on thier combs, but it fades to pink/red as the comb gets bigger.

Sumatras have pea combs, and are Gypsy faced. That means thier face and comb are black, but they dont have black skin.

Finally, after all these years, here's the picture... Not a great shot of the comb, but I figured someone might be able to find out from the rest of her appearance? Her name is Dragon wings

That's Lola the barred rock, BB the rhode island red probably rooster (Hooraaaay....) and Hedwig the either white rock or white leghorn, all in the background. You can't see them as well, but the australorp rooster and EE pullet are in the pic, too. We got hatchery assorted, which is why we aren't 100% sure what some of them are. :)) Anyways, what breed does little Dragonwings look like?

What color is her skin? Her feet look black, and I don't think Sexlinks or Austrolorps are supposed to have black feet. It is from a hatchery though, and sometimes you get wonky things going on in hatchery birds...

Oh, duh. I just saw where you previously posted she had black feet
