Chicken and Fires. What to do?

Hi. We live in California near the Eaton fire. We have yet to be evacuated but are prepared to leave at a moments notice. There is so much smoke and ash in the air, so much so that it is falling down like snow. We have a small flock of 3 birds and the air quality is around 200 where we live. I’m wondering what to do with our flock. Will they be affected by the smoke and ash that’s influencing the air quality?
Here’s a picture of the sky near us.
Crate your birds, now and load any feed and water now, so all you have to move is them. If you have cats, kennel them as well. If you have to evacuate, take pictures and vet records with you, just in case. And by all means, don't wait until the last minute to leave! You can always come back, but you can't get out if you're trapped.
Keeping you and all the others affected by the fires in our prayers.

Thank you all so much for the support and kind words! We brought them inside and put cardboard on the floor of the room they are in. There’s so much uncertainty right now but it’s so nice to have people supporting you. The hens seem to like their little place and have already started pooping :lau
it’s gonna be a big mess to clean up in that room but it’ll be worth it

Love the cardboard on the toilet 🤣
Didn’t want to try the potty training?

Be safe!

Echicky (or anyone else reading this who is evacuating), message me if you end up evacuating and need a place to foster your chickens! My mom lives in Northridge, has a giant, empty, fully enclosed aviary/coop/run, and said she can foster chickens for up to a couple of months! We had chickens growing up and when I lived a few hours away, I used to bring my hens home to LA with me for the holidays.

That is a wonderful offer ❤️

We are definitely taking them with us if we have to leave. We have a small spare bathroom that we could probably bring them into. They were outside yesterday in that air. Is there anything we can do that would reverse some respiratory damage that might have already been done? Would two large dog crates be enough space for 3 chickens?
If you're able to set up a small humidifier that might help them breathe a little easier.
