Chicken Attacked By Dog Strange Mushy Egg

Hello thank you for your comment.

I am not sure where her vent is.

I will be honest and say I am not familiar enough with chicken anatomy to be confident to state what it is we are looking at.
I’m sorry.

Also the vets I talked to said this is not LASH.

They did recommend I give her penicillin for the wound and said it’s possible because her bumble foot was so bad (it was about 1/4 of an inch that went through her entire foot one end to the other) he said perhaps the bumble caused the egg but they said they cannot be sure whag caused it but they’re confident it isn’t LASH.

I did say this In the original post but I know my post was long and I talked about the LASH a ways down I’m sorry. :(
The vent is the Cloaca.
I realize and did read that the Vet said it was not Lash and that you said it was not Lash.
OK. Like I said. Regardless of the "name" you want to put on it, it's infection. Nothing should come from the oviduct that looks like that.
Perhaps your vet can give you antibiotics to help with infection and maybe see her, that would be best? That will be the easiest way to source medications quickly.

I would continue to treat the wounds. Get the infection under control.

First don't beat yourself up, things happen. As far as lash, it's not, lash is solid, rubbery. This is most likely from stress. So I would monitor her closely.
Thank you so much for this. Truly. She is safe in a spare room. Still not out of the danger zone for her yet. Do you have any idea on how many days I should be watching her until she’s out of danger zone? I probably won’t let her back out with the rest for a week or two since I do not want them pecking at her.s
Do you think another epsom salt bath could be beneficial?

Thank you for this.
So I know what you’re referring to now.
What I THINK happened is the area above her vent got sliced because I can see her opening and see her clenching it I guess you could say.
I do see some urine on her feathers below it. I don’t know if my pup potentially cut it.
I’m beginnging to think more and more that another epsom salt bath may be needed to clean the area and so I can see more and update perhaps?

Vet said penicillin he did not say anything about amoxicillin.
He said .25 CC in breast for a week.
Assuming she Makes it how long can her eggs go without being eaten?
I’m not worried about her eggs right now but since I don’t know which of my hens are laying I’d hate to put her back out there if her eggs would be unsafe and not know which is which if that makes sense.

I'd keep her inside entirely until she's cleaned up and healed up. Chickens are cannibalistic and will eat each other when they find a wound, especially one like this.

The rule for wormers (I know it's not a wormer but just as a reference point) is 2 weeks of withdrawal from consuming eggs until it passes through the system. I'd go with that reference point for antibiotics too, to be on the safe side.

Is that the same for if she has antibiotics? I’ve been told not to do it consistently due to resistance.

Amoxicillin is a bit better than penicillin, has less resistance, and it is given orally. AquaMox amoxicillin is available online and possibly in a local feed or petstore. Dosage is 125-250 mg given orally twice a day for 10 days. Egg withdrawal time is 7 days after stopping the drug. Epsom salts soaks or warm soapy water soaks are good daily to promote healing while she is inside. They need to be shallow, and dry her thoroughly after. Keep the area covered with antibiotic ointment or vaseline while it is healing. Here is where to order:
