My little Americauna, Julia, got attacked by a Pitt bull Friday morning. The rest of the day she hid from me and tried to stay in the dark. I switched her food to Medicated Chick Starter feed from Manna Pro and giving her lots of water. I have some antibiotics and pain reliever from my other chicken that I gave her Friday night and saturday afternoon (yesterday). I did a full check where she would let me. She's limping on the left side. Doesn't lift her wing, leaves full weight on the right side. She was trying to walk yesterday but you could tell she was in pain. So I put her upstairs in my office near the window where it's comfortably warm.

I was worried about peritonitis but she laid an egg yesterday (which went to trash due to the medications) but that made me happy. She hasn't laid anything today.

I put warmed VetRX on her beak and crown, which thankfully relaxed her tremendously. That's when I was able to look around to find the spots from the accident. I dampen a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide - there was one spot that I did and she didn't like it (of course), Vetericyn spray and then the Hen healer blue ointment on top of that when it dries. I put VetRx mixed with some petroleum jelly to put on her legs and feet.

Contemplating giving her an epsom salt bath -- I know I should have done it when it happened but didn't even cross my mind until now. Is it a good idea? And then follow with the spray and ointment?

Is there something else I should be doing? HELP!!!!

Oh bless her little heart, I hope that Pitt has been … let us say … seriously chastised 🤬
I would keep every damaged area you can well sterilised and keep her calm. A little pampering with high protein goodness wouldn’t harm either 😉 actually any goodies under the circumstances.
Poor little poppet I hope she soon gets reunited with her sisters to tell them all about her adventure ❤️
