Chicken beak

For some reason, the lower beak is overgrowing. If she were mine, I would trim the lower beak back to the quick.

I didn't even know that could be done! Is it like trimming dogs' nails?

HA! Maybe she got in a bar fight?

I just dug up some photos when I got her, which looks like was exactly a year ago (she belonged to a friend of mine and her flock got taken out by an ermine, and this was the one chicken who somehow escaped the massacre). I took her in because she had no other chickens to keep warm with for the winter.

Looks like she might have had a little bit of a shorter top beak but it looks more pronounced now

That sweet girl! You're lucky. We had to put braces on my daughter's teeth three times to correct her underbite.
