Hi all, I’m wanting to make some boots for my tiny pekin. She’s getting over a severe case of scaly leg & bumblefoot (I got her with these conditions last week).

I’ve found the little chicken booties online but no one in my country sells or makes them. I could buy them from overseas, but the shipping fee is over $100!

I was wondering if anyone else has bought or made them and if you would be kind enough to share a template with me.

Thanks all

Hi!

Most here in the states I've seen just make a booty for them with Vet Wrap and a gauze pad for the bottom of their foot. If the bumblefoot area is still sore, a donut-type thing like those corn pads people put on their feet for corn, warts, etc., works to keep pressure off that area.

Here's some sold by Amazon.

You would only want the booty for the bumblefoot as for the SLM, the skin needs to breath so their scales can fall off and regenerate. That can take several weeks, even months. I've been through it with my silkies three times now.
