WhyDoILikeChickens
Crowing
Hello and thanks for tuning in. I just ordered my first batch of meat birds. 26 CX will be on the way in june when they hatch. Trying to learn about processing in the meantime.
I dont like paying someone else for something I can do. Was looking into cones to dispatch and realized I have metal that will work perfectly if I get dimensions I can make my own. Then wondered what else would work to secure and calm the bird?
Could you cut the corner out of a bag?
Glue some plywood together in same shape?
Bungie cord it to a wall?
I've seen people (videos) use cones and even just slipknot the feet and physically hold it.
I want to be humane first and foremost, then efficient next. Holding the bird doesn't sound efficient.
The plan would be to process 5 at 8 weeks, 5 at 9 weeks, and 10 at 10 weeks.
