We’re making plans for another new coop LOL. This is going to be for my parents house. My dad wants a wood shed attached to the side of the chicken coop.

Wood shed measurements
4’x6’
Coop Measurements
8’x6’

Here is the rough outline of how we want to set it up:

And here is the inside wall of the chicken coop that would be the wall the wood shed is attached too: DECD457A-E1CB-4C5F-9098-D83E8277D28D.jpeg

Now:
Obviously i want a wall between the chicken coop and the wood shed….

However i’m getting stumped and it’s probably a lot easier than i think.

Would i build the chicken coop like i’m planning and just add the wood shed on to the end with the wall in between?

Things i know i want:
The roof to be one thing full thing, across the chicken coop and the wood shed
4x4 standing posts (Corners)

Would this be correct?

This is looking at it from birdseye view, the red line would be the play wood that’s attached to the chicken coop:

If you aren’t building, you could find an 8x12 shed. Split it down the middle with chicken wire. If it has a double door you can open the wood side first, and then the chicken side if you want to walk in that side. If it’s hot, you could keep the wood side door open during the day for extra ventilation. In the few extra feet you gain on the wood side, you coudl store your feed & chicken supplies.

I am building it! That’s why i’m not sure where to add that wall.

Also,
The chicken coop and wood shed are going to be two different buildings basically, just attached, if that makes sense. The coop i’m planning already has a feed storage and everything, the wood shed is just going to be built on

I saw a coop that was built up against the wall of a garage. The collected the eggs from the car park side of the garage, other wise you would not know that was was a coop.
I have a coop that is made of pallets and covered with plywood, I like to move it around it is easy to assemble and disassemble. I always placed the pallets to the inside of the coop, but looking at the pallet thread, I want the pallets facing out side, then it will be easier to attatch side buildings to it. Too much snow to play currently but I stay up all night and make plans.

I was planning on using t1-11 as the siding. I guess i’ll just use normal plywood for the separation wall

If you make this 8x12 instead of 6x12, it will cost the same $ and be bigger. Plywood sheets come in 4x8’ so you won’t be throwing away any extra.
