Hello , a friend of mine got this chicken in February (she is 15 weeks old ) in a bin labeled leghorn pullets. It was fine for awhile then started to have trouble walking . I told her I would take it. There are no known injuries and I suspected maybe a vitamin deficiency. I started giving supplements and as she is starting to seem more lively she is still having trouble walking which she seems a little heavy and I don’t think the added weight is helping . She is eating and drinking just fine gets around a little bit but only hobbles so far before laying back down . Is interested in pecking at things and acts completely fine besides having trouble walking . I do own chickens but have never experienced this with any of mine . She is not with the other chickens as I know they will pick on her . I have been giving nutritional yeast , poultry cell and poultry booster as well as feeding cluck & co chick starter . I have prepared it with the chick starter topped with poultry booster a scrambled egg with nutritional yeast on top and poultry cell in the water . ( I also gave her a bath because she has lost many feathers and was quite gross from sitting in her own feces ) I would appreciate any information and tips if anyone knows what this is or how I can help her . I attached some photos and video links thank you so much !

Will she make her right foot if you touch the foot pad to curl her toes? I am having trouble telling if one leg is weak or paralyzed, or if she may have a leg bone deformity such as varus, valgus, or twisted tibia. She seems to stand up and then sit with the right leg out. Does she have any sores on her hocks from pressure? Does she appear knock kneed or bow legged? Did she look like she had splay leg when she came to you?

No sores on her hocks and she will not curl toes on either foot when I touch her foot pad . I have only had her in my care for a little over a week and since I’ve had her she has been doing exactly as she’s doing in the videos but she does seem to stand a little taller since being given the supplements . previous owner says when it started it was always her one leg that went out . The left leg seems sturdy but the right leg does not .

Did you ever find the cause? My buff Orpington was fine one day at around 4 weeks and the next day was doing this.. it’s been a month now and nothing I’ve tried has improved anything.

Yes, how is the pullet doing now? Did she get any better or worse?
Ok so what was wrong with yours?
There were a couple days mine seemed better but then regressed. She is super unstable after walking around and flutters her wings a lot to help her balance. She just kind of has this shake or vibration. That’s almost constant, especially in her legs when she’s walking. When it first started, she could barely stand, and her legs would give out. She can run around and walk and fly. We did a course of selenium and vitamin E as well as B complex and poultry cell. Also did a course of antibiotics. Her head kind of does this weird shaking and it looks exactly like someone with Parkinson’s. It started when she was around four weeks old and she’s about nine weeks old now none of my other chickens have had anything remotely wrong with them
