Hi,
My chicken has started making strange noises, like she is having difficulty breathing. It's been going on for a couple of days and getting a bit worse. She is mostly sitting around, although she can still peck around and eat. I don't think there is anything stuck in her throat.

In post 1 of the thread below you can hear a chicken with stridor. Does it sound anything like that? Videos may be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, Imgur, etc with a link posted here to see here. Stridor can happen with dusty feed, or when they get a small piece stuck in the throat. Do you see any bubbles in one eye, swelling of an eyelid, nasal drainage, or gasping?
Edited—I forgot to link the video, so here it is, see post 1:

Hi,
Yes it sounds the same. I thought i uploaded a video with the post.... but i don't really know how to upload videos in youtube. No there are no bubbles and no nasal discharge. No eye swelling. But breathing is like the video on the other thread and she regularly shakes her head and makes a loud scream to try and dislodge whatever is stuck.

Hi,
We have been giving our chicken antibiotics for 4 days now and no improvement. I have attached another video but unable to do so thru youtube. Hopefully you can view it. She breathes heavily most of the time, with her mouth open. It sounds like strider in the other video. Then she stands up like in the video and seems to be trying to get something out of her throat. We cant feel anything tho.

I am a duck person. I haven't had to deal with strider. However, my friends duck got a leech in its nare when she bought her dream place and movedd to country where she had a dam. Unfortunately the dam was infested with leeches. I am only mentioning this since your chicken hasn't responded to antibiotics and doesn't have all the symptoms. Do you have leeches in your area?

Stop the antibiotics. Soak a few small pieces of bread in olive oil. Put a piece of the soaked bread in her mouth, let her swallow it. If she attempts to drop it, force it as best as you can in her mouth until she swallows it. Wear disposable gloves. Give her 3 or 4 pieces of the soaked bread. Then gently massage her neck in a downward motion to her crop for a few minutes. Good luck.
