Do you grind your chicken meat?

If so, any comments (I mean, is it worth it, is it good?) I suppose it is ;)

Would something like this work?

I am not sure how "hard" it is to grind chicken and if I need a 300$ machine or just the 40$ one would do. The Lagostina is kind of middle-class price and doesn't need to be clipped on the side of the counter.

So.. I a newbie at this. Can you put a whole, raw, chicken breast in there and get grinded meat out of it?

Do you do chicken sausages?

Thanks! :)

I have an old sunbeam mixer with a grinder attachment. I have ground beef and venison with it, I'm sure chicken would be no problem. Of course I don't grind the bones with this.

I don't bring chicken. I process my extra roos and can the pieces in jars in a pressure canner. The meat is easily shredded when I open the jar. The bones literally fall out and it is already cooked, so can go directly in chicken salad or eaten cold.

Ah great, I will try canning chicken this year for the first time :)

The reason I want to grind it, is to can chicken spaghetti sauce. I always do it with beef, but trying to be self-sufficient and not having enough place for beef makes me want to try chicken spaghetti sauce. I'm thinking if I marinate it with flavors like beef broth, soy sauce or similar products, the chicken will have more flavour and the sauce could be acceptable ;)

Spaghetti sauce can be made a lot of ways, it just may taste different, but still good!

Case in point, a local barbecue joint has spaghetti night. They use pulled pork, half normal spaghetti sauce sauce, half marinara sauce. It's amazing. Alfredo sauce and chicken as spaghetti sauce is also good.

I enjoy experimenting with flavors, so everything is possible. Of course I don't have children to deal with the "but this isn't what I'm used to " issue. Experiment!

I'm considering spicy tomato puree with shredded chicken for dinner tonight. I opened a quart of canned chicken and have made three servings from it and still have a little left. Need to make something!

I do...

I used some spent hens to make sausage links.

I have a kitchen aid mixer with all the attachments, the grinder works as good as my dads $500 one.

I used the skins as fat and added a bit of stock. Really good eats
