Chicken noob in NM

[Desert chicken tender]

Got the girls to venture out of the coop for the first time today. They took some coaxing. I sat on the ground and laid a trail of crumble down the ramp that led to a tray with more crumble in it. They followed the trail then ate their fill and began to explore their run for the first time.

It wasn't long before they indulged in a good dirt bath.

It was a good field trip until the winds picked up and I ushered them back into the coop to get them out of the blowing dirt and dust. Fun times...
